About me
Dr. Caswell holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood Literacy: Reading-Language Arts, and has an undergrad emphasis in Families Studies and Human Development. Caswell is English as a Second Language endorsed and is a NBPTS Certified Candidate Support Provider for National Board Certified Teacher candidates. As a Teacher of Promise and Horizon Award Recipient, Caswell has experience teaching early childhood/elementary education as well as experience supervising preservice teachers in various pK-12 educational settings. Being a National Writing Project Teacher Consultant, Caswell has presented at the international, national, state, and district levels focusing on emerging literacy, writing process, mentor text, workshop approach, visual literacy, family literacy, developmentally appropriate and authentic assessments, as well adult learning, and diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging (DEIB). Caswell currently serves as a site director of the Flint Hills Writing Project, a local National Writing Project site. Caswell is a certified Equity Literacy Facilitator of Facilitator Training.
